What a wonderful and inspiring read!

August 1, 2026

I’ve written and erased and rewritten this multiple times. I don’t know where to start, the book The Measure of a Life was a very good read!

Honestly, I’m not usually a big reader, but this book completely hooked me—I finished it in just two days!

What stood out most to me was how you handled hardship. Instead of adopting a victim mindset, u used unfair treatment and harsh experiences as fuel to build deep self-discipline, order, and determination.

Your accounts of growing up during apartheid, pushing through those massive barriers, and ultimately representing South African excellence on the global stage made me so proud.

Beyond your achievements, the biggest takeaway for me was the parts about anything being possible, and reading about how you found ur voice—learning to set firm boundaries, speak up for herself, and realize that not every opportunity that comes your way is actually good for you.

Such a powerful, inspiring read! Highly recommend grabbing a copy.
